Is Duplicate Content The End Of Articles And Article Directories?
Spead the word...
Duplicate content seems to be the buzz word on the internet and in the internet marketing forums but should this put you off sending your articles to all the article directories?
As we know Google has clamped down on the amount of duplicate content on the internet. This way the same article doesn't come up again and again in the search results. Which is understandable, the average Joe looking for information doesn't want to be left with search results that have the same article coming up again and again.
So should that put you off sending your article to more than one article directory? If it's on other sites surely its not going to matter as they're never going to register in search results and you may not get as many back links as you used to a couple of years ago.
But don't let that put you off there other ways around this. You could take your article apart and rewrite it with a different beginning, ending, and title, this way your article is different to the original one and there is a better chance it will get indexed by Google as a unique article.
Now if you're stuck for time and in a rush there are a number of ways you can do this job. If you type "Unique Content Generator" into your favorite search engine there are a few pieces of software that will come up.
These work by jumbling up the content of your article by putting new phrases in here and there to make it unique. While this sounds good I've used this type of software before and found them next to useless.
Yes, the finished article looked nothing like the original, but that was because it was complete mess and unreadable. The quality was so bad it would never be accepted anywhere and if it would be a very poor advertisement of you and your business.
So does this mean you should do it all by hand?
I believe so, while this might sound as a pain in the neck and time consuming. You could hire a writer to do this work for you but if you have the time and not the money I'd suggest doing it yourself.
This way the article follows more or less the same format and you know better than anyone the train of thought that went into it writing it. This way you can make it unique and still be in your voice.
While duplicate content may be a pain in the neck and another hurdle we have to jump through to please Google this also can work in your favor.
Why?
As we know the vast majority of people are lazy deep down, and won't bother making their content unique. So this is your chance to get the jump on your competitors. By going the extra mile, you can create more content that gets indexed more by the search engines which means more links, more traffic, and more sales - Ca-Ching!
This extra hour making unique articles for article directories is time well spent. Remember your article is going out in cyber space for all to see and posted on websites across the world. And sorry to sound a bit morbid but your article may well be around probably a lot longer than you will.
Now are you wondering is this the only copy of this article?
